Many Blood Angels players have mourned the power drop of Lightning Claw Terminators. When Furious Charge also had +1 Initiative, they would at least let you consider taking them instead just SS/TH ones. This is why internal and external balance is so important in a codex. Narrowing down player options hurts the game. No one wants to see the same units across from them on the table all the time. What are your favorite units you use or want to that just do not have the power levels they should?
If i should tell a unit i really like in our codex it's the sanguinary priest and the vanguard vets. It's a shame both got so badly screwed with 6th edition rules. Well, the whole codex atm is not working. Let's hope we have a new one soon.
ReplyDeleteOn the other side of the argument, Vanguard Vets can allow you reach out and hammer an annoying shooting unit that is trying to remain hidden. You could also argue that Feel No Pain is actually improved. Losing the +1 initiative really takes away one way that the Blood Angels felt unique from other marines.
ReplyDeleteloosing +1 initiative and getting +5 fnp down from +4 it's a huge nerf man, but that's not the main problem. the real problem is the point cost of such units... a 5 man vv squad equipped with just a power weapon and a power fist comes for 190 points (jump packs included). look at the latest eldar or tau codexes and make comparisons...
ReplyDeleteThe points cost suck, but if it means you can neutralize a shooting unit that will otherwise ruin your day.
ReplyDeleteRemember, the real solution is allying in other forces to make up for the deficiencies the Blood Angels codex.
ReplyDeleteIMO priests are still good. Favorite underpowered unit has to be Furioso Dreadnaught, i wish i could field them, but they have to many drawbacks.
