Construction Forthcoming
As you all know, I have not been very active on BA Devastators. As such, it is need of a facelift as well as many other things like podcasts and blogrolls badly need updates. These will be coming as time permits as this will be rather extensive.

Deathwatch is DOA for Blood Angels Players
I know it has been a really rough time for BA players since the Grey Knight codex drop in 5th Edition. We really need an advocate within the studio at this point when we essentially get an assault squad lightly armed sergeant as our Deathwatch member. Have a look: how excited could you get for Delassio's rules or model? There is a new chest armour piece but completely overshadowed by the same head that is repeated in the regular kits. I am definitely holding off on a purchase of this game the same as I have not switched over to the re-sculpted devastator and assault squad kits (at least until we have access to all of the weapons in the kit). I know I have still been eyeing up those Raging Heroes Sisters of Battle sculpts and may not be able to resist to make an ally for my Blood Angel force.

Almost a year between posts!
It has been a tremendous amount of time since I last posted, and nothing has happened with our beloved Blood Angels! GW has still passed over our army for FAQs. I personally wrote GW asking for one with an actual letter. Unfortunately, it has fallen upon deaf ears, and we are left waiting. I remember the initial disappointment with the 7th ed. BA codex release and some voices of optimism that the good builds were just waiting to be discovered. Regardless, keep up your narrative play and stay strong to the codex (or bring in an ally) and master playing your units.

Captain Option
Beer, Bolters and 40K (FB, Podomatic, Twitter) had a nice catch on their podcast. The captain is allowed to take two weapons in addition to the storm shield like in the Space Wolves codex.

Best Run Downs of the 7th Edition Blood Angels Codex
After keeping a lookout for summaries, here are the best Blood Angels 7th ed. codex reviews. I noticed for this release, a lot of reviewers just did a quick article just scratching the surface with changes to Dante, drop pod assault marines and heavy flamer toting tactical squads.
Reece Robbins at Frontline Gaming brought the most solid analysis about the codex. You can read his three part series here one, two and three.
Matt at From the Fang wrote exhaustively about the codex with a whopping nine parts. Links are here starting with the overview, Lords of War, HQ1, HQ2, Elites 1, Elites 2, Troops, Fast Attack, Heavy Support.
Podcasts
I will update the post when I have finished all of the Blood Angels reviews. However, initially I have been quite disappointed with the content so far. This is especially true for the Forge the Narrative crew who are all Blood Angel players. Jaded Gamercast provided an entertaining scathing review of the codex here.

Finally, something has happened.
Hello, everyone. I hope all are well. I have been waiting for the new codex to be dropped, and it's finally out. There are already a large number of people that do the leaks and rumors and whatnot, so there is no need to cover that ad nauseam. There are still formations that are coming out, so it will take some time for the community to digest what Blood Angels actually have to work with. A few things to remember are that those sites pump out quick first impressions because that's what they do. It is always best to play the models you like; however, well-known sources can help you fill out the rest of your army. This includes which units fill certain roles the best way or weapon load outs for units which can be quite important (Tip: It's usually most efficient to not do much, instead getting the unit that already has it built into the cost.). Finally, you may want to purchase units in a paced manner as you can never be entirely sure that a GW faq may come down and ruin your unit. Get out there and get some games in and playtest to see what is working for you and your play style.
